The
Animal
Lady

Every year the Animal Man (or Lady!) comes to Rosedale, bringing a selection of animals for the children to learn about.  Children from Year Two wrote thank you letters to the Animal Lady.

Dear Animal Lady,

Thank you so much for bringing your lovely animal friends.

I really liked Domino, she was really smooth.  At first I thought she was going to slide all over the floor.  She was really spotty with black and white, I really liked her colours.  But I liked the leopard cat more because he could pretend to be dead.  I also liked the Cara Cara bird, I thought he was going to fly off your hand, but lucky he did not.  I also liked Matilda the Iguana, she was really really smooth, she felt like some cotton in a book.

Thank you, love Jessica

Dear Animal Lady,

Thank you so much for bringing all your animals in.  I liked all of them very much.  My favourite was the leopard cat, it was so, so soft and funny.  The Iguana was very tickly and funny as well.  The northern pine snake was very dry, I expected it to be very wet and slimy but it wasn’t.  It’s name was Domino, and I know why he was called Domino, because he was like a domino, and that is true!

Yours faithfully,  George.

Dear animal lady,

Thank you so much for bringing the animals.

I was very impressed by the northern pine snake

The iguana had so many colours and was very long.

I was fascinated by the way Zebedee, the leopard cat played dead; he was like a teddy bear.

The northern pine snake was fantastic; he was just like a domino.

Yours faithfully, Emma

Dear Animal Lady,

Thank you for bringing all the animals in school.   It is interesting because our topic is animal bones.  My favourite was the leopard cat; it was as warm as a cosy fireplace.  The Iguana was good. I thought the Cara Cara bird was going to fly off!

Now, the northern pine snake, it was brilliant, it was my second favourite.

When the animals came round, the leopard cat was as cosy as a fluffy coat, the Iguana was cold and warm, the Cara Cara bird, well, he couldn’t come round and the northern pine snake was not cold and not warm.

Yours faithfully, Jack.
