Activemark Gold
Rosedale is very proud to have been awarded the Active Mark Gold Award by Sport England. Two years ago we gained the Active Mark and since then we have been working towards the Gold Award. This is a wonderful national achievement (only 71 schools in England were given the award) and staff should be praised for their hard work and commitment to helping children to be ‘active’. Special thanks to Mr. Harris (our P.E. subject leader) who had to do all the paperwork involved and thanks also to Willenhall Sports College for their support.
The award is given to schools that demonstrate the importance of staying active to children and who are committed to promoting physical activity for young children. The Activemark is more usually given to schools with older age children.
Mrs Tina Dunkley runs an after school Netball club for children from our Year 2, and Year 3 children from Short Heath Junior School			As a school we work hard to reinforce the benefits of keeping active and fit to our children, as they are the next generation and sport is a key building block to a healthy adulthood. The success is obviously due to the hard work, time and effort given by staff.
	We provide a range of activities for children of all abilities which is important for self esteem and of course, health.			Mr. Keith Harris runs an after school Football club
Thanks also to those parents who support us on our swimming afternoon, and for their support and help in the after school clubs
					On Thursday January 24th 2002, Mr. Keith Harris, our P.E. Co-ordinator, received the Active Mark Award at a special presentation evening.

Both awards are national awards which are valid for three years.
